PALIKAMBING (FRIED BANANA DUMPLINGS) WITH CARAMEL SAUCE


Ingredients:

1 kg over ripe lakatan/bongolan bananas, mashed (about 2-1/2 cups)
3/4 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGG
1/2 cup sugar
1 (475 mL) bottle cooking oil for deep-frying

CARAMEL SAUCE

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 (125 mL) pack MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
1 tbsp STAR MARGARINE CLASSIC

Procedure:

  1. Combine bananas, flour, egg and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Heat oil in a saucepan. Fry every 2 tbsp of mixture until brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Meanwhile prepare Caramel Sauce by combining sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. When syrup turns amber or light brown in color, turn off heat then add prepared creamee and margarine.
  4. Drizzle over pali kambing or serve on the side.

Makes 6 servings.
