YANG NYEOM CHICKEN (SWEET AND SPICY CHICKEN)


Ingredients:

12 pc MAGNOLIA CHICKEN STATION LOLLIPOPS
1 cup Korean light soy sauce*
2 cups cooking oil

Sauce:

2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 pc white onion, chopped
1 pc carrot, chopped
1 pc green pepper (siling haba), chopped
1 tbsp Kochujang* (hot red pepper paste)
1 tbsp Korean syrup*
1/4 tsp pepper
Korean light soy sauce*
1 tsp dashida (Korean soup stock)*
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Procedure:

  1. Marinate chicken lollipops in light soy sauce for 30 minutes and fry in 2 cups of oil.
  2. Heat remaining oil and sauté  garlic, onion, carrot and green pepper then add Koch’ujang, syrup, pepper, light soy sauce, dashida and sesame oil.
  3. Put fried chicken in the sauce and simmer for a few minutes. Transfer the chicken into a serving platter. Sprinkle top with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
Makes 3 to 4 servings.
