SHEPHERD'S PIE


Ingredients:

1 cup chopped onions
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 kg MONTEREY GROUND BEEF
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chopped basil leaves
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp liquid seasoning
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 cup chopped mushrooms

Topping

1/4 cup DARI CREME CLASSIC
400 grams potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
1/2 cup grated MAGNOLIA CHEEZEE
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1 tsp pepper

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a pan, sauté onions, garlic and ground beef in olive oil. Add basil leaves, ketchup, liquid seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and mushrooms. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drain excess oil and transfer mixture to loaf pan.
  3. Melt margarine in a pan. Add mashed potatoes, cream, and grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Top mashed potato mixture over ground beef. Bake for 25 minutes.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
