PRUNE BARS


Ingredients:

2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tbsp + 1 tsp BAKE BEST BAKING POWDER
1 tsp iodized fine salt
1 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1/4 cups brown sugar
5 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
1 1/2 cups pitted then chopped prunes
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla extract

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Sift flour, baking powder and salt 3 times. Set aside. Line a 16" x 12" x 1" baking pan with aluminum foil. Grease pan and set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar for 10 minutes at medium speed.
  3. Increase high speed then add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. The color should be golden brown.
  4. Lower speed and add flour mixture. Fold in prunes and walnuts by hand. Add vanilla.
  5. Pour onto prepared baking pan. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool then cut into bars.
