PORK KASTSU DON


Ingredients:

1 (500g) pack PUREFOODS CRISP 'N JUICY PORK KATSU, cooked according to package directions, cut in half
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 (50g each) pc onions, sliced thinly
7 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, beaten separately
7 cups cooked Japanese rice
1 (30g) stalk green onion, chopped

Tonkatsu Stock:

1 cup chicken stock
2 tsp sugar
2-1/2 tbsp soy sauce

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, combine tonkatsu stock ingredients. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a non-stick pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté 2 tablespoons of onions until tender and slightly caramelized.
  3. Pour 3 tablespoons of tonkatsu stock over onions. Let simmer for 1 minute, and then place a piece of fried tonkatsu on top.
  4. Pour beaten egg over tonkatsu. Cook covered over low heat until egg sets. Top on bowl with rice. Garnish with green onions.
  5. Repeat procedure with remaining ingredients.

 

Tip/s:

  • Option to slice pork katsu before adding the beaten egg.

  

Makes 7 servings.

(Yield: 1 pc tonkatsu over 1 cup of rice per serving)
