PENNE PASTA WITH LUCBAN LONGANISA SAUCE


Ingredients:

2 tsp minced garlic
1 pc onion, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
4 pc MONTEREY LUCBAN LONGANIZA, casings removed & filling crumbled
1/2 cup chunky tomato sauce
2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
200 grams penne pasta, cooked according to package directions
MAGNOLIA QUICKMELT CHEESE, grated

Procedure:

  1. Cook penne noodles according to package directions. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, sauté garlic and onions in olive oil. Add longanisa and cook, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Add chunky tomato sauce. Mix well.
  3. Add basil then season with salt and pepper. Let simmer once, remove from heat and pour on cooked pasta.
  4. Top with grated quickmelt cheese while hot.
Makes 4 servings.
