PATA WITH BEANS


Ingredients:

1/4 cup DARI CREME MARGARINE CLASSIC
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 (100 g) pc onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 kg MONTEREY PORK PATA SLICES
2 cups tomato sauce
3 cups water
1 pc bay leaf (laurel)
450 g red and green bell peppers , cubed (about 1-1/2 cups)
1 (100 g) pc potato, cubed
1 (100 g) pc carrot, cubed
2 tbsp paprika
1 (390 g) can pork and beans
8 pc PUREFOODS STAR HOTDOGS REGULAR, sliced
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Procedure:

  1. Melt margarine with oil in a medium stock pot.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic until tender. Add in pata slices. Cook until pata changes in color.
  3. Add tomato sauce, water and bay leaf. Let boil. Cover and simmer until pata is tender.
  4. Add bell peppers, potato, carrot, paprika, and pork and beans. Cook covered until potato and carrot are tender. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add in hotdog slices. Let simmer for another 3 minutes. Serve while hot.

Makes 5 servings.
