MEAT FREE BOLOGNESE PASTA


Ingredients:

1/4 cup olive oil
1 pc onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
1-1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 pack (200 g each) VEEGA MEAT FREE GINILING
2 tsp tsp iodized fine salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp pepper
1/4 cup (7 g) basil leaves, chopped
1 cup water
500 grams spaghetti noodles, cooked according to package directions

Procedure:

1. In a pan, heat oil and saute onion and garlic for 1 minute.

2. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and then simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. If blender is available, puree the tomato sauce mixture for 5 seconds and then return back to pan. 

3. Add meat-free giniling. Season with salt, sugar and pepper. Add basil. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until sauce oils out. 

4. Turn off heat and toss in cooked pasta. 

Makes 12 servings.

(Yield: 6 cups sauce/ 1/2 cup sauce per serving)
