MEAT-FILLED PANDESAL


Ingredients:

2 (450 g each) packs PUREFOODS READY-TO-EAT PORK HUMBA or preferred viand, cut into small cubes
1 cup cornstarch, dissolved in 1 cup water

Pan de sal Dough

1 pack SMMI MIX ‘N BAKE PANDESAL MIX
2 tbsp EMPEROR’S BEST INSTANT YEAST
1-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup + 3 tbsp GOLDEN FRY PALM OIL

Procedure:

  1. Simmer viand in a saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add cornstarch mixture while stirring until mixture starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Set aside to cool.
  2. To make dough, combine dough ingredients in a mixer and knead for 8-12 minutes until the dough is developed. Dough surface should be smooth and free from any lumps.
  3. Divide dough into 48 portions (at 30 grams dough weight) then shape into balls. Flatten each dough ball and place 2 tbsp filling in the center. Seal and form into a round shape.
  4. Coat with breadcrumbs and place dough on the baking sheet and let stand again until double in size, about 1-1/2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 200oF. Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. 

Makes 48 pieces.

Tip/s:

  • Use other PUREFOODS READY-TO-EAT viands as filling such as BEEF PARES, LECHON PAKSIW, BISTEK TAGALOG, BICOL EXPRESS, BEEF CALDERETA, KARE-KARE, and PORK BINAGOONGAN.
