MANGO JAMMIES


Ingredients:

1 (225 g) bar BAKER'S BEST MARGARINE
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/4 cup cake flour
2-2/3 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, sifted
1/2 cup mango jam

GLAZE:

1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbsp MAGNOLIA FULL CREAM MILK

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Cream margarine and sugar together. Stir in flour and use hands as mixture becomes stiff and forms a dough.
  3. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Roll out dough into a 2mm-thick rectangular sheet then cut into 1” x 1/2” pieces or into assorted shapes of choice.
  4. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Or until sides are just beginning to turn golden brown.Transfer to a wire rack and let cool.
  5. Spread mango jam on one side of baked crust and top with another baked crust. Do the same with the rest. Set aside.
  6. Drizzle glaze on top of filled crust. Let stand for 15 minutes or until glaze has set and hardened. Pack in jars or boxes.
  7. GLAZE: Mix powdered sugar and milk and continue mixing until smooth.
Makes 12 pieces.
