LEMON POPPY SEED BUTTER LOAF


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1/2 tbsp BAKE BEST BAKING POWDER
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
2 tbsp poppy seeds
3/4 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1 cup sugar
4 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, separate egg yolks and whites
1 tbsp orange zest
1/4 cup orange juice

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line 3 pieces 10x4" loaf pans with baking paper. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds. Set aside.
  3. Using an electric mixer with paddle attachment; beat butter, ½ cup sugar, egg yolks and orange zest. Stir together until well incorporated then add in the dry ingredients alternately with orange juice. Set aside.
  4. In another bowl, combine egg whites and remaining sugar then whisk until slightly soft peaks. Fold into the flour butter mixture then pour into prepared loaf pans.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
