HONEY BUNS


Ingredients:

4-3/4 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1-1/2 tbsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER, softened
1 pc egg
1 cup water

Procedure:

  1. Mix all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and buttermilk.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening and refined sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and continue mixing until properly blended.
  4. Add flour mixture and water, mix it manually until smooth and elastic. Rest dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut and scale dough. Round and flatten dough. Deep fry and use wooden spoon to round the bottom portion.
  6. Spread honey and Magnolia Gold Butter. Serve while still hot.
