FRUIT AND NUT SQUARES


Ingredients:

1 bar (225 g) MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1 cup (200 g) sugar
1 pc (50 g) MAGNOLIA BROWN EGG
1-3/4 cups (210 g) MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tsp (4 g) vanilla

Topping

1 cup (225 g) glazed fruits
1 cup (140 g) chopped cashew nuts
1/2 cup (80 g) raisins
1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
1/2 cup (112 g) MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED, melted

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line and grease a 9x13-inch pan with aluminium foil. Set aside.
  2. With a mixer, cream butter and sugar until light in color. Add egg and beat until well blended.
  3. Gradually add flour, and then vanilla. Transfer to prepared pan and press firmly with the back of a spoon. Set aside.
  4. For topping, combine glazed fruits, cashew nuts, raisins, sugar and melted butter. Pour on top of crust and bake for 40 minutes. Cut into squares.

Makes 24 pieces.
