FREE FORM APPLE CHEDDAR TART RECIPE BY CHEF BAMBI SY GOBIO


Ingredients:

Filling

1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon powder
5 pc apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Topping

2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup grated MAGNOLIA CHEDDAR CHEESE

Crust

3-1/2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1-1/2 cups MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1/2 cup grated MAGNOLIA CHEDDAR CHEESE
1/2 cup water

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. To prepare filling, combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside with the apples.
  3. For the topping, combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix everything until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.
  4.   For the crust, combine flour, butter, and cheese in a bowl. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter and cheese into flour until mixture resembles cornmeal. Add water and form mixture into a ball. Rest the dough for 20 minutes. Roll or pat the dough out into desired shape and lay on a tart pan.
  5. To assemble, place and spread out the apple slices onto prepared crust. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top of the apples. Lastly add the topping.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the size) or until golden brown.
Makes 8-10 servings.
