FIESTA HAM CHICKEN CHOWDER


Ingredients:

1/4 cup GOLDEN FRY PALM OIL
1/4 kg PUREFOODS FIESTA HAM CHICKEN, cut into 1 inch squares (1-1/2 cups)
1/4 cup DARI CREME BUTTERMILK
1 (50 g) pc onion, chopped
3 (400 g) pc potato, diced
1 (100 g) pc carrot, diced
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
4 cups water
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp chopped green onions

Procedure:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Fry 1/2 cup of ham for 4 minutes or until crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  2. Melt margarine in a heavy bottom pot. Sauté onion, potato, carrot, and remaining ham for 5 minutes.
  3. Add flour and stir until smooth. Add water and cream gradually. Simmer for 15 minutes, while stirring or until soup slightly thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Top with fried ham and green onion.

Makes 6 servings.

(Yield: 6 cups /1 cup per serving)
