DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE GANACHE


Ingredients:

1 (550 g) pack MAGNOLIA DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE MIX
3 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
1 cup water
1/2 cup cooking oil

Ganache

1 (250 mL) pack MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
1 (250 g) cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER SALTED

Procedure:

  1. Line bottom of an 8 inch round pan with baking/wax paper. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine eggs, water, oil, then add cake mix. Mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool then place on a plate and cake stand.
  3. In a saucepan, heat cream until scalding. Remove from heat and pour over chocolate placed in a heat proof bowl. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes and then gently add butter. Stir until well blended. Cool completely.
  4. Pour ganache on cake spread and level on top and cover sides with a spatula. To make large swirls, place spatula in the middle and move steadily outward while turning cake stand.
  5. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

Makes 8 servings.
