Crème Brulee French Toast

- In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Immediately pour mixture into an 8″x10″ baking dish. Arrange sliced bread in the dish. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine milk, cream eggs, vanilla extract, zest and salt. Mix well and pour over bread. Let stand in chiller for bread to absorb milk mixture.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake bread for 30 to 40 minutes or until bread becomes puffed and milk mixture has set. Cool slightly before serving.
Makes 3-4 servings.
Tip: May be served with fruit marmalade and/or whipped cream on the side.
