2 bundles Pechay Tagalog, ends trimmed
2 pc eggplants, sliced and soaked in water
1 bundle sitaw, sliced into 2 inch pieces
store-bought sautéed bagoong


  1. Steam or boil vegetables. Set aside.
  2. To reheat Kare-kare via microwave, pour frozen contents in a microwavable container and cover. Microwave for 8 to 10 minutes on medium to high setting. Stir every 2 minutes until heated through.
  3. To reheat via stove top: Thaw product in the chiller for at least 4 hours. Pour contents in a pot. Reheat for 10 minutes with occasional stirring until thoroughly heated.
  4. Transfer to platter. Arrange vegetables and serve with bagoong.

Makes 8-10 servings.


  • To boil vegetables, in a saucepan, boil 2 cups water seasoned with about 1 tsp patis or 1 tsp iodized fine salt then cook vegetables one at a time until tender or green vegetables have turned bright in color, and then set aside. Start with pechay Tagalog, followed by eggplants and then sitaw.
