Ingredients:
1/2 | kg | MONTEREY BEEF CUBES |
1/2 | tsp | baking soda |
1 | tbsp | soy sauce |
3 | tbsp | cooking oil |
1 | thumb (15 g) | ginger, cut into strips (1 tbsp) |
1 | pc (190 g) | large white onion, cubed |
6 | cloves | garlic, chopped |
2 | tbsp | taosi, mashed |
2-1/4 | cups | water |
1/4 | cup | oyster sauce |
1/2 | tsp | sugar (optional) |
1 | tsp | cornstarch (optional), dissolved in 1 tsp water |
3 | pc (150 g) | tomatoes, sliced into wedges |
1 | pc (50 g) | red bell pepper, cubed |
1 | pc (50 g) | green bell pepper, cubed |
Procedure:
1. In a bowl, marinate beef in baking soda and soy sauce for 15 minutes.
2. Heat oil in a pan or wok and then fry meat until brown.
3. Set aside bee to one side of pan.
4. In the same pan, sauté ginger, onion and garlic. Next, add taosi, water, oyster sauce and sugar.
5. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
6. Add cornstarch mixture while stirring continously until sauce slightly thickens.
7. Add tomatoes and bell peppers. Simmer once and serve.
