CHEESY HAM CREPE CASSEROLE


Ingredients:

2 pack (160 g each) MAGNOLIA CHEEZEE MILKY WHITE, cubed (reserve 1/2 cup for topping)
1 pack (250 g) PUREFOODS COOKED HAM, cubed or diced (reserve 1/4 cup for topping)
1 bundles (12 pc) chives or green onions, ends trimmed and steamed (optional)
1 pack (160 g) MAGNOLIA QUICKELT CHEESE, grated

Pancake Crepes

1 pack (400 g) MAGNOLIA PANCAKE AND BAKING MIX
8 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
2 water water
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup DARI CREME CLASSIC, softened for brushing pan

White Sauce

2 tbsp DARI CREME CLASSIC
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2-1/4 cups MAGNOLIA FRESH MILK
1 pack (160 g) MAGNOLIA QUICKMELT CHEESE, grated

Procedure:

1. Prepare crepes by combining pancake mix, eggs, water and oil. Stir until a thin smooth batter is obtained.
2. Heat a crepe or shallow frying pan. Brush pan lightly with margarine then pour about 1/2 cup batter. Tilt pan in a circular motion to create a round crepe. Cover and cook for about 15 seconds over low heat. Flip crepe and cook the other side for another 15 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter. Stack cooked crepes in between sheets of wax paper. Set aside.
3. Prepare white sauce by melting margarine in a saucepan. Gradually add flour while mixing with a whisk. Add milk gradually while whisking. Bring to boil then add cheese. Stir continuously until melted. Let sauce simmer and thicken. Set aside but keep warm.
4. On each crepe, place some white cheese and ham. Fold or roll. Tie with green onions or chives, if desired. Arrange rolls on one 8.5x13-inch rectangular or two square 8.5-inch casseroles. Pour white sauce in the middle and then sprinkle with melting cheese and top with white cheese and ham. Bake in the oven set to 350o F for 15 minutes.
 
Makes 10 servings.
(Yield: 10 crepes/1 pc per serving)
 
Tip/s:
  • This dish can be prepared a day before and kept chilled. Just add white sauce and toppings before baking.
  • If an oven is not available, just add cheese while rolls are hot or prepare in smaller containers and quickly zap in the microwave to slightly melt cheese
