CALIFORNIA TEMAKI WITH CREAM CHEESE SPREAD


Ingredients:

2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp iodized fine salt
1 cup Japanese rice, cooked according to package directions
1 pack Nori wrappers
1/2 cup sliced ripe mangoes
1/2 cup sliced cucumber
8 pc kani (crab sticks)
1/3 cup MAGNOLIA CREAM CHEESE SPREAD

Procedure:

  1. Heat rice vinegar in a small pan over low heat. When warm, add sugar and salt and stir until dissolved. Let cool.
  2. Place cooked rice in a mixing bowl to cool. Sprinkle vinegar mixture evenly and cover with a damp towel to keep from drying out.
  3. To assemble, divide each Nori wrapper into two, crosswise. Fill half side of the wrapper with rice and flatten it. Place a slice of mango, cucumber and kani in the middle of flattened rice. Pipe a teaspoon of cream cheese spread on top of the filling and roll into a cone shape.
  4. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
Makes 2-3 servings.
