CAJUN-STYLE FRIED CHICKEN


Ingredients:

1 (1 kg) pack MAGNOLIA CHICKEN TIMPLADOS FRIED CHICKEN
3 cups cooking oil

Cajun Spice Mix:

2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tbsp dried oregano
1/2 tbsp dried basil
1/2 tbsp thyme
3/4 tsp cayenne
3/4 tsp pepper
3/4 tsp white pepper

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, combine spices and mix well. Heat Cajun spice mix in a non stick pan until fragrant. Cool and set aside.
  2. Place chicken and its marinade in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp of Cajun spice mix and mix well. Set aside. Drain just before cooking.
  3. In another bowl, place breading and stir in 2 tbsp of the Cajun spice mix.
  4. Dredge chicken into the breading mixture and deep-fry in hot oil for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain excess oil.
  5. Sprinkle remaining Cajun spice on fried chicken just before serving.

Makes 6 servings.
(Yield: 6 pc/1 pc per serving)           

Note/s:

  • When spices are not available, store bought Cajun seasoning can also be used.
