BUTTERMILK PUTO


Ingredients:

Puto

2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
3 tbsp BAKEBEST BAKING POWDER
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1/2 cup DARI CREME BUTTERMILK, melted

Topping

1/4 cup MAGNOLIA CHEEZEE, cut into 1” thin strips

Procedure:

  1. Prepare steamer by putting in water until base is half-filled.  Turn on heat to high until water boils.
  2. Meanwhile, combine flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl.  Add water and margarine and mix until smooth.  Fill each puto mold with prepared mixture (about 3/4 full). Top with cheese.
  3. Arrange puto on the steamer basket and steam for 10-13 minutes.

Makes 20 pieces.
