BISTEK TAGALOG


Ingredients:

1 kg MONTEREY BEEF SIRLOIN, tapa style
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 tsp iodized fine salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup sliced onions

Marinade

1 tbsp + 1 tsp liquid seasoning
8 pc calamansi, juice squeezed
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water

Sauce

4 tsp liquid seasoning
2 tsp sugar
2 pc calamansi, juice squeezed
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cooking oil

Procedure:

  1. Marinate beef in liquid seasoning, calamansi juice, soy sauce, and water for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Pan fry beef then season with salt and pepper to taste.  Set aside.
  3. Using the same pan, sauté onions until tender. Let simmer for 2 minutes. Add cooked beef mixture. Serve.

Makes 6-8 servings.
