BICOL EXPRESS WITH TOFU


Ingredients:

1 cup cooking oil
1 pack (250 g) firm tofu (tokwa), cut into 6 and pat-dried
1 pack (450 g) PUREFOODS READY-TO- EAT PORK BICOL EXPRESS, thawed out in the chiller
1 pc (4 g) finger pepper (siling haba), seeded and sliced

Procedure:

1. Heat oil and deep-fry tofu for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain excess oil and set aside
2. Heat Bicol express in a pan for 8 minutes and stir occasionally. Toss in tofu.
3. Transfer to a platter and top with chili.

Makes 5 servings.
(Yield: 2 1/2 cups, 1/2 cup per serving)

Note/s:

  • Bicol Express can be reheated frozen or thawed. When thawing, place a frozen pack in the lowest part of the ref overnight.

Tip/s:

  • Keep tofu for a week by placing in a covered container submerged in water and storing in the ref. Change the water daily for up to 5 days.
