PASTA ALFREDO


Ingredients:

2 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup diced PUREFOODS CLASSIC BACON HONEYCURED
1 tsp minced garlic
1 cup chopped button mushrooms
1 (255 g) bar MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 cup chicken stock
2 tsp nutmeg
1 (250 mL) pack MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
100 g spaghetti noodles, cooked according to package directions
iodized fine salt and pepper to taste
1 cup grated MAGNOLIA CHEDDAR CHEESE

Procedure:

  1. In a saucepan, cook bacon in oil until slightly browned then add garlic and mushrooms and sauté for another 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
  2. Using the same pan, melt butter and add flour and stir to form a paste.
  3. Add chicken stock, nutmeg and all-purpose cream then season with salt and pepper. Lower heat and simmer until mixture coats the back of the spoon.
  4. Add sautéed bacon mixture then pour on cooked pasta and top with cheese.
Makes 2 to 3 servings. TIPS: Coat cooked noodles with a little oil and wrap well when keeping in the refrigerator. This will prevent noodles from sticking to each other.
