ORANGE CREME BROWNIES


Ingredients:

BASE:

3 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
1/3 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup BAKER'S BEST MARGARINE
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp corn oil
1 tsp grated orange peel
1/4 cup orange juice

ORANGE CREME:

1/2 cup BAKER'S BEST MARGARINE
1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup MAGNOLIA FULL CREAM MILK
1 tsp grated orange peel
1 tbsp orange juice
few drops of orange food color

Procedure:

Base:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9" square pan. Set aside.
  2. Beat eggs until light in color.
  3. Add flour and sugar and mix well until blended.
  4. In a pan, melt margarine, cocoa powder, maple syrup and corn oil over low fire.
  5. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Stir into the egg mixture until blended.
  6. Add orange peel and juice. Transfer mixture into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares and top with orange creme.
Orange Creme:
  1. Cream margarine until light.
  2. Dissolve sugar in milk and add gradually to margarine. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in orange peel and juice. Add orange food color.
  4. Spread or pipe orange creme on top of each square.
  5. Garnish with orange jelly on each square.
Makes 20 servings.
