FRIED CHILIES & CHEESE


Ingredients:

6 pc green finger chilies
1 (165 g) pack MAGNOLIA QUICKMELT CHEESE, cut into strips (16 sticks)
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, use egg whites only
2 cups MAGNOLIA NUTRI-OIL PALM VEGETABLE OIL, for deep-frying

Side Dish

1 pc green mango (manibalang), peeled then flesh chopped
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (wansoy)
1 tbsp finely chopped onion
iodized fine salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp olive oil

Procedure:

  1. Slit the finger chili from the tip of the body to the crown, deseed and insert cheese stick.
  2. Dredge in flour, dip in egg whites and dredge again in flour. Repeat the procedure for the rest of the chilies. Deep-fry in oil and drain paper towels.
  3. Side dish: Mix green mango, sugar, cilantro and onion. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with more olive oil. Serve with Fried Chilies & Cheese.
Makes 4 servings.
