CHEESY SURF AND TURF DOUBLE DOWN


Ingredients:

4 strips PUREFOODS HONEYCURED THICK CUT BACON
4 pc tilapia fillets
1/8 tsp iodized fine salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA QUICKMELT CHEESE , grated
2 tbsp calamansi juice

Procedure:

  1. In a non-stick pan, fry bacon until crispy using its own fat. Set aside.
  2. Season tilapia with salt and pepper. Dust tilapia with flour and pan-fry in the same oil over medium heat skin side first. When skin side is crispy, about 3-4 minutes, flip tilapia and cook for 2 minutes more. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  3. Place pieces on a plate and top with 2 pieces of bacon and cheese. Put remaining half of the tilapia as if it is like a burger bun skin side up. Drizzle with calamansi juice.

Makes 4 servings.

Tip: You can also use MONTEREY BEEF, PORK, and CHICKEN for a different version.
