BEEF SATE'


Ingredients:

1/2 kg MONTEREY BEEF SIRLOIN, sliced

Marinade:

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/34 cup chopped shallots
1 stalk lemongrass, finely chopped
2 tbsp corn oil

Peanut sauce:

2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp minced red onions
1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
3/4 cup coconut milk
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Procedure:

  1. Prepare marinade by combining all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate beef for at least an hour. Keep refrigerated.
  2. Skewer beef and grill for 8 to 10 minutes over moderate heat. Serve warm with peanut sauce.
PEANUT SAUCE: Heat oil in a saucepan. Sauté garlic and onions. Stir in peanut butter, coconut milk and soy sauce. Season with turmeric and cayenne pepper. Mix well until smooth.
