WALNUT RUM CHOCOLATE LOAF


Ingredients:

Chocolate Loaf

1 cup water
1/2 cup cooking oil
3 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
1/4 cup rum
1 (550 )g pack MAGNOLIA DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE MIX
1/2 cup glazed fruits
1 cup toasted walnuts

Rum Syrup

1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup rum

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line bottom of a 9x3x3 inch loaf pan with baking paper. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine water, oil, eggs and rum. Mix well. Add cake mix and glazed fruits.
  3. Pour into prepared pan, top with walnuts and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. For rum syrup, in a saucepan, combine water, sugar and rum. Boil for 5 minutes. Pour all over baked chocolate loaf. Cool before unmolding.

Makes 8-10 servings.
