TARA'S SECRET


Ingredients:

Crust:

1-1/2 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1-1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup BAKER’S BEST MARGARINE
1/4 cup cold water

Filling:

3 pc eggs
1-1/3 cup dark brown sugar
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER, melted
1 cup pecans

Procedure:

Pre-heat oven to 400°F.
  1. Blend flour, sugar and salt. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  2. Add water and form dough into a flat disk. Wrap and chill until cold.
  3. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface about 1/4" thick.
  4. Transfer dough into a 9" pie plate and press into place. Crimp edges and freeze for 20 minutes.
  5. Bake blind in the oven at 400°F for 15 minutes.
  6. Lower oven temperature to 350°F.
  7. In a bowl, mix eggs, sugar, maple syrup, salt, and butter. Beat mixture until smooth.
  8. Add pecans and pour mixture into the prepared crust.
  9. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.
