SPOON-LICKIN' COFFEE FLAN


Ingredients:

2 tbsp MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED, softened
1 cup MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA FRESH MILK
1 tsp SAN MIG 100% PREMIUM INSTANT BLACK COFFEE
1 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGG
3 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGG, use egg yolk only
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch iodized fine salt
200 grams chocolate, shaved (for garnish)

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Brush custard cups with butter. Set aside.
  2.   In a small saucepan, combine cream, milk, and coffee. Let boil and simmer over medium heat. Remove form heat and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together egg, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla and salt, Add half of heated milk mixture and mix well.
  4. Add remaining milk mixture.. Strain then pour into custard cups. Place custard cups in a roasting pan. Fill pan with warm water until 3/4 of the cups. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool for about 20 minutes after baking.
  5. Loosen custard with knife. Invert onto serving dish and top with shaved chocolate. Refrigerate.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
