SOUTHERN STYLE FRIED CHICKEN


Ingredients:

1 kg MAGNOLIA CHICKEN STATION ASSORTED CUT-UPS, washed and pat-dried with paper towels
cooking oil, for deep-frying

BATTER:

2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, lightly beaten
1 tbsp cooking oil
2/3 cup MAGNOLIA FRESH MILK
3/4 MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

BREADING:

1/2 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tsp pepper

MARINADE:

2 tbsp iodized fine salt
2 tbsp fried chicken seasoning
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp pepper
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 cups MAGNOLIA FRESH MILK

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, combine marinade ingredients except milk. Marinate chicken in mixture then refrigerate overnight.
  2. Boil chicken with marinade and milk until tender.
  3. In another bowl, prepare batter by mixing eggs, oil and milk. Add flour and whisk together until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Prepare breading by mixing flour and pepper. Set aside.
  5. Heat oil in pan. Drain chicken from marinade. Coat with batter then dredge in breading. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown in color. Serve hot.
Makes 4 to 5 servings.
