Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 380°F. Grease and flour baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar for 7 – 10 minutes at high speed with a mixer. Lower the speed to medium. Add flour and salt alternately with egg whites. Add vanilla and continue beating until well blended.
  3. Pour mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a tip (plain or rosette) and pipes 1 1/2″ strips. Leave 2″ space in between strips.
  4. Bake for 7 minutes.
