KATSUDON


Ingredients:

2 pc MONTEREY PORK CUTLETS
iodized fine salt and pepper to taste
1 cup MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS
1 cup breadcrumbs
cooking oil for deep-frying
1/2 cup store bought Donburi sauce*
1 pc onion, sliced
1 pc leek, sliced
1 pc carrot, sliced
2 pc shiitake mushrooms, sliced
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, beaten
cooked rice

Procedure:

  1. Pound pork with mallet until 1/4” thick and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge meat into flour, then dip in eggs and coat with breadcrumbs. Heat oil and deep-fry pork.
  3. Heat Donburi sauce in a sauté pan with onion, leek, carrot and shiitake mushrooms. Add beaten eggs and boil for a few minutes.
  4. Place cooked rice in a bowl, add fried pork and pour sauce on top.
*may be bought in international sections of supermarkets
Makes 1 to 2 servings.
