JAZZY JALAPENO COFFEE STEAK


Ingredients:

1 tsp cooking oil
1 kg MONTEREY RIB-EYE STEAKS

RUB

1-1/2 tsp SAN MIG SUPER 3-in-1 COFFEE
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1 tsp sugar

JALAPENO GRAVY

1/4 tsp SAN MIG SUPER 3-in-1 COFFEE
1 cup beef stock
1/4 cup chopped jalapeño
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tbsp water

Procedure:

  1. Combine rub ingredients in a small bowl. Evenly coat steak with rub on both sides.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and sauté steaks to preferred doneness. Serve with gravy.
JALAPENO GRAVY:
  1. In a saucepan, combine coffee and stock. Boil and simmer over medium heat and reduce to 1 cup.
  2. Add jalapeno, brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch mixture and any pan juice from the steaks. Mix well.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
