HOCUS POCUS SLIDERS


Ingredients:

1/2 kg MONTEREY GROUND BEEF
200 g squash, peeled, boiled and mashed
1 pc medium white onion, finely chopped
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp iodized fine salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 (200 g) pack MAGNOLIA QUICKMELT CHEESE, sliced into 3
6 pc slider buns
1/4 cup STAR MARGARINE SWEET BLEND
1/2 cup store bought barbecue sauce
1/2 cup tomato ketchup

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven broiler to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, squash, onion, eggs, bread crumbs, sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well. Divide the meat mixture into 6 portions. Form a patty and flatten to 2-1/2 to 3 inches in diameter.
  3. Brown the patties in a heated pan with oil for 2 minutes on each side. Put the patties on a foil-lined baking sheet and top each patty with sliced cheese.
  4. Broil in the oven for about 6 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Spread margarine on the inner side of the buns. Toast the bread for 3 minutes.
  6. To assemble, place a patty inside each bun and spread barbecue sauce and ketchup. Serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings.
