FIESTA HAM WITH TAMARIND GLAZE



Ingredients:

1 (1kg) pc PUREFOODS FIESTA HAM

Glaze

3 tbsp tamarind paste
4 tsp finely chopped garlic
1 tbsp ginger juice
1 tsp chili flakes
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
iodized fine salt to taste

Procedure:

  1. Unwrap ham then transfer to a serving dish.
  2. In a saucepan, combine tamarind paste, garlic, ginger juice, chili flakes, vinegar, honey, soy sauce and brown sugar. Mix well. Simmer for 3-5 minutes. Strain glaze. Transfer glaze back into saucepan and continue to cook until thick. Season with salt.
  3. Pour hot glaze on ham. Garnish, if desired, then serve.

Makes 10-12 servings.
