FESTIVE RICE WITH NUGGETS


Ingredients:

2 (200 g each) packs PUREFOODS FUN STUFF NUGGETS
cooking oil, for deep-frying
1 (250 g) pack PUREFOODS CLASSIC HONEYCURED BACON
1/2 cup chopped onions
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 cup cooked and deveined shrimps
10 cups cooked rice
1/3 cup turmeric powder
iodized fine salt and pepper to taste
4 pc orange
1 tbsp chopped cilantro

Honey Mustard Sauce

1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
3 tbsp MAGNOLIA REAL MAYONNAISE

Procedure:

  1. Deep-fry nuggets in oil until golden brown. Set aside. In a separate pan, heat pan and cook bacon. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan, sauté onions, garlic, carrots and shrimps. Toss rice. Add turmeric powder, salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Remove pan from heat then toss in orange segments and cilantro. Bring pan back to fire and roughly crush bacon and add to fried rice. Continue to cook.  Turn off heat. Top with nuggets and serve with honey mustard sauce on the side.
  4. To make honey mustard sauce, combine honey, mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl. Chill for 15-20 minutes. Use as dip for nuggets.
Makes 10 servings.
