DATE AND APPLE CRUNCHIES


Ingredients:

1 (225 g) bar MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED, softened
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 cups quick cook oatmeal
1-1/2 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups chopped dates
2 pc apples, peeled, cored and chopped

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9” x 13” baking pan with aluminium foil. Grease and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add sugar and maple syrup. Mix well. Do not allow to boil. Set aside to cool.
  3. Combine oatmeal, flour and baking powder. Mix dry ingredients into the butter syrup mixture and mix thoroughly. Fold in chopped dates and apples. Pour into prepared baking pan.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Bake until firm and golden brown in color. Cool and cut into bars.
Makes 16 slices.
