CREAM CHEESE FLAN


Ingredients:

CARAMEL:

1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp water

FLAN:

1 (225 g) pack MAGNOLIA CREAM CHEESE, softened
1/2 cup sugar
8 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, use 2 whole eggs and 6 egg yolks
1 cup evaporated milk
1 (300 mL) cup condensed milk
1 pc lemon, use grated rind only

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, make caramel by mixing sugar and water. Cook until mixture turns to a deep brown color. Pour caramel over 2 llaneras. Set aside.
  3. Cream softened cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer or by hand. Add whole eggs, egg yolks, evaporated and condensed milk, lemon rind and blend well.
  4. Pour into caramel-lined pans. Cover pans with aluminium foil and place in a water bath.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the flan comes out clean. Cool before serving.
Makes 5-6 servings.
