CHOCOLATE LOAF WITH CREAM CHEESE FILLING


Ingredients:

Chocolate Batter:

1-1/4 cups MAGNOLIA ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp iodized fine salt
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1-1/4 cups sugar
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS

Filling:

1 (225 g) pack MAGNOLIA CREAM CHEESE
3 tbsp sugar
2 pc MAGNOLIA BROWN EGGS, use egg whites only

Procedure:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line two 10” x 4” loaf pans with baking paper. Set aside.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine cold water, cocoa and vanilla. Mix until smooth and set aside in the refrigerator.
  4. Cream butter and sugar for 10 minutes at medium speed. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. At low speed, add flour mixture alternately with cocoa mixture. Mix until smooth. Set aside.
  5. For the filling, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg whites until smooth and creamy. Pour half of chocolate batter mixture into prepared pans and pour half of cream cheese mixture on top of it and cover with remaining chocolate batter mixture and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
Makes 8-10 servings.
