ASIAN GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS


Ingredients:

8 pc MAGNOLIA CHICKEN STATION WINGS, each piece cut into 2
1 cup cornstarch, for dredging
2 cups cooking oilL, for deep frying

MARINADE

1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp five spice powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp iodized fine salt
1/2 tsp pepper

GLAZE

1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1 tbsp Hoisin sauce
1 tbsp chili garlic
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 cup water
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
2 tsp cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp iodized fine salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Procedure:

  1. Marinate chicken wings in garlic, five spice powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper for 3 hours. Drain but reserve marinade.
  2. Glaze: Sauté garlic and ginger in olive oil and butter. Add hoisin sauce, chilli garlic sauce, honey and vinegar. Let simmer then thicken with cornstarch mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Steam marinated chicken until it changes in color. (May be cooked in the microwave oven for 3-1/2 minutes)
  4. Dredge chicken wings in cornstarch. Deep-fry.
  5. Toss in glaze. Serve.

Makes 4 servings.

Tip/s: You can prepare the paste by mashing cloves of garlic.
